Homes at Night Wraps Up Opening for Saint Motel
This past week, Homes at Night finished touring with Saint Motel on their Awards Show tour.
A sold-out Webster Hall awaited them at 8 o’clock as the band took the stage. Striding out on stage, Aksel Coe sat behind his drum kit while Hank Compton grabbed his guitar. Without ado, they launched into their first song, “Help You Unpack."
The song definitely caught the audience's attention. With its slow beginning, they focused on Hank’s vocals and then got into the music with the high-energy instrumental break halfway through.
You could sense the passion on stage as Homes at Night played with Aksel and Hank's phenomenal chemistry. You could feel the bond between them. It's always amazing to see when people share a musical connection.
While the crowd may have been unfamiliar with their songs, that didn’t stop them from dancing and singing along when they could pick up on the lyrics. One song that got people excited was “Bonnaroo." The chill verses got the crowd swaying while the explosive chorus, “Cut it and give end, help me forget it," got everyone jumping around.
Homes at Night's last song was their latest single, “Texaco." At that point, the crowd had fallen in love with the band. I saw pockets of fans dancing and swaying while singing along.
Homes at Night definitely appreciated their audience. Having only started releasing music last year, the duo is new to the scene and acknowledged that many people in the crowd had not heard of them. Despite this, everyone was still dancing and singing along.
The duo thanked the audience for showing up early to hear them saying, “We’re a newer band so the fact that y'all showed up for us is great.”
