It’s Getting Chilly: Fall Playlist

Grab your hoodies! Fall has arrived.

Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons. Cold weather, brisk winds, crunchy leaves… the list goes on and on. To kick off the season, I’ve compiled a list of songs that give off fall vibes.

What makes these songs fall vibes? For some, it’s a title or lyrics that invoke a feeling of wrapping yourself up in a blanket or sweatshirt. For others, it’s a bit of je ne sais quoi. I can’t explain it, but the energy of fall lives in these songs.

"it's getting chilly" Fall Starter Playlist:

"Sweater Weather"- The Neighborhood. Grab a sweater because the essence of fall is in this song’s title. If you have never heard this song, where have you been?

"Heather" - Conan Gray. Yet another sweater reference. Can you tell I love sweaters? This song wrecked me when it first came out and it continues to destroy me every time I listen to it.

"we fell in love in october" - Girl in Red. I’m lowkey jealous of all of the people that can claim this song’s energy.

"505" - Arctic Monkeys. This is one of those songs that just screams fall. Maybe it’s the band’s name that gives me that chilly vibe, but something about this song makes me feel like I’m crunching leaves underfoot as I walk down a street with the wind blowing in my face.

"Bloom" - The Paper Kites. This sweet acoustic song feels like being wrapped in a blanket on a cozy rainy day. Perhaps watching the leaves fall from the window as you listen and sip a cup of tea.

"Apocalypse" - Cigarettes After Sex. The slow lazy feel to this song makes me feel like I’m waking up on a cold morning and staying under my warm covers. This song feels like a blanket, keeping you tucked in.

"Dreams" - Fleetwood Mac. The entire song is an absolute masterpiece. The references to rain and thunder create a vision of a fall storm and the sun coming out afterward. I love the rain and how it feels right after a downpour. This song captures that feeling of renewal.

These are just a few of the songs on my fall playlist. Let me know what your go to fall song is.
