Blondshell Announces Debut Album,
The song "Sepsis" was the first to draw me into Blondshell's discography (aka Sabrina Teitelbaum). Upon first listen, I was immediately captivated by the title and the music. Blondshell quickly entered my most played rotation. Her recent single "Joiner" is another obsession of mine in her discography.
Featuring airy keys mixed with acoustic guitar, "Joiner" has a '90s indie-rock sound. Through this track, Blondshell promises to work with someone clinging to bad habits so they can get rid of them.
"I think I want to save you / I think I want to join in," Blondshell earnestly cries out during the chorus. The second verse explores the darker sides of the relationship. "Think you watched / Way too much / HBO growing up / Now you got one arm cut / And when you eat you throw up".
In addition to a newly-released single, 2023 brings Blondshell’s self-titled debut album arriving on April 7 via Partisan Records. Among others, the album will include "Joiner" and the already released tracks “Olympus”, “Kiss City”, “Sepsis”, and “Veronica Mars”.
Blondshell is currently on tour supporting Suki Waterhouse and is set to play SXSW and Treefort festival after those tour dates wrap up.
