Daniel Seavey Wants to “Runaway”

Why Don’t We may be on hiatus, but its members are still making music. “Runaway” is Daniel Seavey’s second single since he started his solo career.

Seavey first teased the track on TikTok and had fans begging for the release. On December 9th, he delivered.

Coming out of a boyband, we’re seeing the growth of the 23-year-old singer. Over a synth-pop instrumental, Seavey expresses his desire to run away with his partner. The electric sound is a new side to the cello-playing musician, but it’s not unwelcome.

“And I know we ain't together, but I wanna run away.” Seavey builds the tension in the pre-chorus but withholds the release until the last chorus. The result is a track that keeps you on edge until the sweet end. There, Seavey lets his production skills loose in a cathartic electronic release.

With two releases under his belt, Seavey is just getting started. A tour announcement followed the single, so stay tuned for the "Introducing Daniel Seavey" solo tour!
