The Greeting Committee Keeps It Simple with “Anything But You”

The Greeting Committee is an indie-rock four-piece band from Missouri made up of Addie Sartino, Pierce Turcotte, Noah Spencer, and Micah Ritchie. “Anything But You” is their newest single following “Hopscotch” and their sophomore album Dandelion.

The Greeting Committee proves that simplicity is the key with "Anything But You."  With the verses' straightforward drum beat and melodic guitar, Addie's voice stands out to highlight the lyrics. "I'll jump if you jump," but I already had" captures the heartfelt simplicity of falling in love.

While Addie's vocals remain at the forefront of the track for its entirety, the chorus delivers a beefed-up instrumental that adds some energy to the song. A strong bassline lays the foundation for Addie to sing over in the chorus. “I don't wanna talk about anything but you, anything but you."

Lyrically, the chorus is simple, but the repetition plays to the song’s meaning. The easygoing but energetic chorus section and a straightforward message unite to make the point explicit. “Don't want anybody, I want you.”

The Greeting Committee is currently on tour! More info about tour dates is available here and you can watch the music video for “Anything But You” below.
