Live: Rebounder Has Us Wanting More at Bowery Ballroom

Fronted by NYC native Dylan Chenfeld along with his brother Noah on bass, and backed by Cobey Arner on drums and Zack Kantor on guitar, Rebounder is the indie band of your dreams. This week they delivered an unforgettable performance at the iconic Bowery Ballroom.

With over a decade of songwriting experience under his belt, Dylan Chenfeld started releasing songs as Rebounder in 2018 with his debut EP Subway Songs. Garnering attention with that release, Rebounder went on to tour with Cautious Clay, MUNA, The Neighborhood, and more. The Neighborhood’s Jesse Rutherford even features on Rebounder’s single “Change Shapes.”

Radiating the energy and heart of New York, Rebounder's songs are akin to an indie movie soundtrack to an indie movie. Their blend of nostalgic pop vibes, complemented by catchy electric guitar riffs and melodies, always leaves audiences craving more.

The night at Bowery Ballroom kicked off with a mesmerizing set by Plastic Picnic, followed by the talented alt duo Ray Bull, setting the perfect atmosphere for Rebounder to take the stage.

Dressed in matching button-downs and black pants, the band stood proudly in front of their giant projected Rebounder sign. A neon "I heart NYC" sign stage emphasized their love and connection to the city.

Dylan launched right into the lead single of their first EP, “Slow Angel,” to start the night. Within the first few minutes of the band being on stage, one person in the crowd had an “I love Rebounder” poster waving in the air that Dylan pointed out.

Moving through their set list, Rebounder went on to play favorites like “Boy Friday,” “Dreamland,” “Change Shapes,” and more. As a special treat, the band played an unreleased track “Poker Night” and got Purr to join them in performing “Library” together.

The band's camaraderie illuminated the stage, as their connection with each other translated into an electrifying atmosphere. They engaged intimately with the audience, bringing them closer together.

Following the heartfelt performance of "Swim Zone," Rebounder momentarily stepped offstage, granting the crowd a brief "cell phone break" before their encore. Minutes later, they reappeared to deliver an unforgettable two-song encore, featuring the unreleased gem "Second Serve Ace" and closing the night with the crowd-pleasing favorite, "Japanese Posters."

Rebounder's show at Bowery Ballroom was nothing short of magical, leaving everyone present with cherished memories and an insatiable desire for more. If you haven't experienced the euphoria of a Rebounder concert, it's time to put them at the top of your must-see list. Their music is a love letter to the essence of New York, and their live performances are an unforgettable journey into the heart of indie dreams.
